The weather is getting cooler and so is the art scene in New Orleans. Alexis Marceaux, NBC’s “The Voice” contestant and NOLA native gives us an inside look at being on the brink of national recognition. Treme’s long time music legend Kermit Ruffin and Cajun fiddler supreme Amanda Shaw invite us to join them for music, food and fun at the Gentilly Fest this weekend. The Contemporary Art Center celebrates its annual Art for Arts Sake season opener with a rich menu of new exhibitions that highlight the experience of migration; a multi screen “cinema stream” that is open to uploads of original work on line; work that combines repurposed and environmental imagery and more. Visiting Curator Niels Van Tomme describes ‘Where Do We Migrate To”. Ivy Mouledoux previews the other exhibits and the party on Julia Street coming up Saturday night.
